The library card combines various functions. On this page you will find important information about the integrated library accounts and how to use them.
Library account for GöDiscovery / Göttingen University Catalog (GUK)
You can find your library account in GöDiscovery via the login icon at the top right of the start page. Please enter your library number (starting with 0007) and your password, which you can obtain via the "Request password" function.
You have the option in your library account to
- check your loan periods and extend them up to eleven times
- change your password
- view your reservations, the validity of your library card and your overdue fines.
Please note: If you have outstanding fines of €10.00 or more, your account will be blocked for all borrowing transactions. It will be automatically unblocked again once the outstanding overdue fines have been paid.
Copy and print account
You will need the copy and print account on your library card to pay for copies and printouts. You can find more information on this under Scanning and copying.
Private individuals and guests of the library can use their library number and the password for the copy and print account to access WLAN at all our locations and to log on to the library PCs. The password is available to private individuals and library guests at our service desks and can be changed in the GWDG Identity Management.
Students use the password of their student account and can change it themselves on eCampus .
Interlibrary loan account in the union catalog (GVK)
In the interlibrary loan account of the Common Union Catalog (GVK) you can place interlibrary loan requests and view the status of your interlibrary loan requests.
Your access data are your library number and the password for the interlibrary loan account (not the same as the password for your library account). You can obtain the password for your interlibrary loan account at our service desks and change it yourself directly in your interlibrary loan account.
For private individuals and guests of the university, the interlibrary loan account can be set up on request.
Card loss
Have you lost your library card? Please report the loss immediately.
- Students should report the loss of their card to the university's incident reporting center: What should I do if I have lost my card or if it is defective?
- Private individuals should report the loss of their card to the library.
Change of address
Has your address changed?
- Students can change their address using the self-service functions in eCampus.
- Private individuals and guests can report address changes at the service counters by presenting their ID card.
