Sustainability

Sustainability at the SUB Göttingen

The SUB Göttingen has set itself the goal of implementing the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDG) adopted by the United Nations in 2015 within its own area of responsibility. In September 2023, it adopted its own sustainability guidelines.

Sustainable development thrives on communication and cooperation. The SUB Göttingen is a member of the Green Library Network, in which academic libraries are organized on the topic of sustainability.

The "SUB AG Nachhaltigkeit (AG NH)" (e-mail) is responsible for identifying in-house measures at the SUB Göttingen. The SUB AG NH works closely with the Green Office of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

Logo Göttinger Saatgut-Bibliothek

SUB Göttingen supports the Göttinger Saatgut-Bibliothek, a private initiative launched by two employees. In addition to open-pollinated seeds from crop and vegetable plants, the library also lends seeds from the climate-resilient perennials in the insect pasture in front of the Central Library to interested citizens free of charge.
