Data Publications

Do you want to publish your research data securely, citable and according to the FAIR principles in the long term? Then you've come to the right place!

You have various options for publishing your research data:

For humanities texts/images with a focus on XML/TEI, the TextGrid Repository is an option, for more generic research data from the humanities, the DARIAH-DE Repository is also an option. The eResearch Alliance will be happy to help you find a suitable subject-specific repository for your data. If you cannot find a suitable repository for your discipline, GRO.data is also available for researchers at the University of Göttingen.

All three repositories are certified, adhere to the FAIR principles and offer secure archiving of your data, provide persistent identifiers for citation and offer various options for visualization and presentation.

TextGrid Repository

to TextGrid Repository

The TextGrid Repository is a long-term digital archive for humanities research data with a strong focus on XML/TEI encoded works and is available to all researchers for the secure storage and presentation of their data. It provides an extensive, searchable and reusable holdings of texts and images from world literature and, in addition to its function as a long-term archive, also offers many features for the storage and presentation of text and images. Based on the principles of Open Access and the FAIR principles, the TextGrid Repository was again awarded the CoreTrustSeal in 2024. For researchers, the TextGrid Repository offers a sustainable, permanent and secure way to publish their research data in a citable manner and to describe it in an understandable way using the required metadata. Further and detailed information on the TextGrid Repository can be found on the Research Data Repositories page.

We will be happy to help you prepare your data for publication in the TextGrid Repository and also support you during the publication process.

DARIAH-DE Repository

to DARIAH-DE Repository

The DARIAH-DE Repository is a digital long-term archive for research data in the humanities and cultural studies that is openly available to all researchers for the publication of their data. In contrast to the TextGrid Repository, it is also suitable for more generic research data and publication requires less metadata. The DARIAH-DE repository makes it possible to store research data sustainably and securely, add metadata to it and publish it with persistent identifiers (DOIs). The research data can be imported and described using the DARIAH-DE Publikator. All published data can be found via the repository search. A video tutorial and detailed documentation guide you through the publication process. Further and detailed information on the DARIAH-DE repository can be found on the Research Data Repositories page.

We will be happy to help you publish your data in the DARIAH-DE repository and support you during the publication process.

GRO.data

GRO.data is a universal research data repository for the Göttingen Campus and all universities in Lower Saxony. It is managed by the eResearch Alliance, a joint initiative of SUB Göttingen and GWDG. Researchers with an affiliation to an institution of the Göttingen Campus or to a university in Lower Saxony can use it free of charge. GRO.data is based on the open source software Dataverse, which was developed at Harvard university and is being used worldwide.

GRO.data serves the storage and publication of research data in order to make them publicly accessible. Ahead of publication, datasets can be stored and described using several available metadata sets. Furthermore, GRO.data supports versioning of datasets. Upon publication of a dataset a persistent identifier (Digital Object Identifier – DOI) is being assigned, to uniquely identify the publication and make it citable.

The datasets in GRO.data are organised in so-called “dataverses“, which can be created for an institution, a project, a working group or also for individuals. The eResearch Alliance offers a monthly open online introduction to GRO.data (dates). The Göttingen Support Team of the eResearch Alliance will be happy to help you.
