Our holdings

In the BBWiSo you will find freely accessible and systematically arranged monographs, textbooks, journals, handbooks and reference works (approx. 496,000 volumes in total).

The holdings of the textbook collection (basement on the right, marked with "LBS" on the spine) can be borrowed for four weeks at a time, with the possibility of renewal. The majority of the holdings are reference holdings with two-day short-term loans for students and privileged loans for employees of the University of Göttingen.

You can collect your reserved items from the service desk.

If you successfully complete the library rally and name the solution set at the Service Desk in the BBWiSo, you will receive a little sweet surprise and a confirmation of your successful participation.

On our subject-specific information pages you will find structured access to relevant catalogs, databases, e-journals and research tools.
Our subject librarians will support you with all questions relating to literature research and ensure that the most important publications from your subject area are represented in our holdings.

Accessibility at the location

The Economics & Social Sciences Divisional Library is accessible at ground level via the main entrance from the campus. An elevator takes you to the reading room in the basement.

On the first floor of the Divisional Library you will find a PC on a height-adjustable table top. In the basement you will find a table with a height-adjustable table top and internet connection.

A toilet for people with reduced mobility is located in the basement.
