The Physics Divisional Library (BBP) provides specialist literature on physics as well as chemistry, astronomy, computer science, mathematics and technology. Our team will advise you on all questions regarding library use.

Workplaces
The Physics Divisional Library offers 124 seats for individual and group use, 15 PCs and three group study rooms with blackboards, whiteboards and monitors.

Bike Desks for Active Learning
Going on and on but not moving forward? Usually that's a problem when studying, but not with us. Behind the group rooms, we offer four desk bicycles that can also be used as standing desks.

High Tables and Balance Boards
Ideal for longer learning or research phases: The BBP has several height-adjustable desks, a mobile standing desk and balance boards for ergonomic work and balance training.

Book Corner "Living"
In addition to titles on the subject of inclusion and participation, our book corner also offers books on sights in Göttingen, hiking maps, cookbooks, novels, comics and films.

Printing and Scanning
Book scanners, multifunctional devices for printing, copying and scanning as well as a poster printer up to A0 are available in the Physics Library. Employees can use the multifunctional devices as external printers. Instruction guides are available at the information desk.

3D Printing
Anyone with a valid library card can order 3D prints from us at a reasonable price. Enquire directly at the information desk or send us an e-mail (bbphys@sub.uni-goettingen.de).

Extending your Student ID Card
You can update your student ID card at our information desk using the renewal printer. The device is available during library opening hours.

Our Holdings
In our library holds about 39,000 freely accessible monographs, textbooks, series and reference works. The majority of our inventory can be borrowed on a regular basis, in individual cases this is indicated by the shelf mark.
The most important textbooks for studying physics and chemistry are grouped separately in their respective textbook collection.
Reserved titles or titles ordered by catalogue can be picked up at the information desk.
You can access our constantly growing range of e-books and e-journals via our catalogues and databases.
Further Specialist Information
On our subject-specific information pages you will find subject-specific information on catalogs, databases, e-journals and other research tools. Our subject librarians will support you with all questions regarding literature research and ensure that the most important publications in your subject area are available in our holdings.
Accessibility at the Location
There are four parking spaces for people with disabilities directly in front of the Physics Faculty.
There is a barrier-free entrance to the right of the main entrance to the Physics Faculty. From there, the Physics Divisional Library, which is located directly opposite the main entrance, can be reached at ground level.
Accessible bathrooms are available on several levels, e. g. on the 1st basement floor and on the 1st floor. Both are accessible via a barrier-free elevator.
