Artificial Intelligence and Library
Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the way we deal with information and is increasingly shaping academic work. The library is evolving from a mere mediator of knowledge to an active designer of modern, digital research environments.
The broad spectrum of methods associated with artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the way information is handled and increasingly shaping academic work. The role of the library is also changing: it is evolving from a mere mediator of knowledge to an active designer of modern, digital research environments. Libraries are thus becoming places where AI-supported research, analysis and preparation processes are not only used, but also critically reflected upon, accompanied and responsibly further developed. The SUB Göttingen is therefore committed to the further development of library applications based on AI - always under strict scientific ethical standards - in order to ensure a reliable, transparent and sustainable information infrastructure. In doing so, it combines its many years of information expertise with technological know-how, cooperates closely with the scientific community and at the same time keeps an eye on the social impact of new technologies. For the SUB Göttingen, innovation means sustainably supporting researchers and students and developing new potential for scientific practice, knowledge production and open access to information.
